Planning your finances starts with a conversation

Your initial meeting is free, relaxed and without obligation

When you ask people what they are most concerned about in their future, nearly everyone mentions money.  They are worried about their ability to buy a home, having enough money to enjoy a lifestyle that isn’t all about work and having enough to live comfortably once they retire. Yet a lot of these same people don’t have a plan, they haven’t spoken to anyone or asked for advice on how to achieve these outcomes. When I ask why, the most common answers are; ‘How do I find someone I can trust’ and ‘I wouldn’t know where to start’.

Financial Planning is easier than you think and it starts with a conversation. We sit and talk about what you want to achieve and I explain how I can help and then we go from there. The first meeting is free and you are under no obligation to use my services but at least you will have an idea of what is involved and how I can help.

An important question people ask is, how do you find someone you can trust?  Ask for references or testimonials, talk to people who have used their services. It’s your money so it pays to do some research. Our existing clients are happy to talk to prospective clients.

You can check the Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence by searching the Financial adviser name, number or ABN. If the adviser is not operating under a licence, do not deal with them – they are breaking the law and you will have little protection if things go wrong. You can also check me out on the Adviser Ratings Website.

See how we can help. Are you….

If you could achieve your financial goals by simply putting money in the bank, you wouldn’t need a financial plan. Unfortunately, it’s a little more complicated than that. You need to understand the intricacies of investment, taxation and the ever-changing regulations, that is why you need professional help. It’s my job to stay on top of all this and give you the best advice available.

What’s Involved?  We start with a free consultation where I will explain the process, find out your needs, and outline the costs should you choose to use my services. If you want to proceed the next steps are as follows:

We will identify your short and long term financial goals – this stage serves as a foundation for developing your plan.

We will take a good look at your income and expenses, assets and liabilities, family circumstances, insurance coverage, etc.

Next we will recommend suitable strategies, products and services, and answer any questions you have.

Once you’re ready to go ahead, we put the plan into action. Where appropriate, we may work with specialist professionals, such as an accountant or solicitor.

Your circumstances, lifestyle and financial goals are likely to change over time, so it’s important that your financial plan is regularly reviewed, to make sure you keep on track.

A professional financial planner will help you reach your goals; even if retirement may seem a lifetime away, the sooner you start planning the more.
